Proxies are back…

Posted by Shannon on Oct 5, 2008

Due to the overwhelming popularity of my proxies, my hosting company could not keep up with the load.  In order to keep the site running so that it can be enjoyed by those who of you who use it daily, I decided to offer the proxies via a FREE MEMBERSHIP.

This is 100% free.. There’s no obligation.  Just sign up and you’ll get immediate access to the proxies.

Also… If everything works out well, I’m going to be uploading my entire collection of proxy sites.  That’s over 4000 proxy sites!

You’re killing me!!!

Due to the overwhelming popularity of my proxies the load on my server has been too much.  In order to keep the load down I had to temporarily disable the proxies.

They will be back soon!  Stay tuned!

uShibby Proxy Newsletter

Posted by Shannon on Mar 4, 2008

Do you use uShibby’s Proxies to access your favorite sites at work or school? Of course you do, but I’m sure you know as well that your work or school will probably block this site eventually.

Wouldn’t you want a whole database of proxy sites on hand for when your company/school goes crazy again and blocks everything?

Subscribe to our newsletter (on the right) and I’ll send you new proxy sites every week. I have a database of over 4000 proxy sites that you can use.

uShibby’s New Theme

Posted by Shannon on Oct 16, 2007

Ok Folks,

Here’s what I’ve done so far.  I have a new theme selected.  I went for a plain simple theme that’s easy to work with.  What do you think?

I have a Facebook Proxy, MySpace Proxy, and now I’ve added a Bebo Proxy as well.  I just uploaded the phproxy script and didn’t test it yet, so it might not work for Bebo.  Sorry it’s 2:35am right now so I’m not really interested in testing it! lol

Although each of these proxies are all using the same script, I’m planning on tweaking each of them to work their best for each social site.  Plus, I’ve been playing around with a few more proxy scripts that I found.  If I find a script that works better than phproxy, I’ll switch it over.

I know the current scripts have their limitations and there are a lot of things that don’t work when you’re on the site, but hey any access is better than no access! :)

Later guys,
~Shannon

uShibby is changing!

Posted by Shannon on Oct 11, 2007

I created uShibby back in spring before facebook apps were released.  At the time the main purpose of the site was to collect all the cool and fun things people were doing while using facebook.

Majority of the site’s content was around wall art that people used to post on their friends profiles.

Since facebook apps has been released there has been numerous applications created that are much better than the wall art.  Because of this it appears the wall art, riddles, surveys, etc are pretty much dying out.

I’ve noticed this trend in my traffic as well, but there has been one part of my site that continues to stay strong.  And that’s my facebook proxy section.

I use proxies myself because I’m blocked from many of the social sites at work.

So, I’ve decided to change the main focus of uShibby.  uShibby will no longer be just facebook fun anymore.  Instead uShibby will now be a social proxy site.

I already have a facebook proxy and a myspace proxy setup on the site.  Currently they’re pretty basic and I haven’t modified the script yet.

I plan to create custom proxies for the social sites (facebook, myspace, youtube, etc).  I will modify each script to get the best results from each site.

Because each site is unique the default phproxy script doesn’t work the best.  I’m hoping with a little tweaking of the script I can get each proxy to work it’s best for each social site.

And you have my personal guarantee that I will not keep track of anything that you type into my proxies!  It was always a concern of mine when I used to use other site’s proxies that they were tracking everything I typed into their script (because it’s really easy to do).   At least by using my scripts, you don’t have to worry about this.

Take care!
